Hacktivism
The picture to your left says it all. Hacktivism involves the use of computers and the Internet to conduct resistance against a government or corporation. Hacktivists will conduct Denial of Service

views. This type of cyber crime's main intent is to bring attention to a political of social issue.
Example: Hacktivists protesting against the Iranian election - In this DDOS attack, hacktivists operating from outside of Iran, targeted Iranian government and other state-sponsored websites. As a result, the Iranian government blocked access to different social network sites to prevent netizens from providing coverage regarding the current state of affairs on the street.

Web Hacking
This type of cyber crime is used to deface government websites. It is generally used to embarrass the political party by showing up the weakness of their security systems. This type of cyber crime puts government data, information relevant to national defense and national security at risk. This is important because the consequences of these acts not only affects the government but more importantly a country's citizens.
